
Student Portrait: Fatema Ghoghai, Master鈥檚 Student
Meet student Fatema Ghoghai! She is a dedicated social worker and current master鈥檚 student in social work. Here she shares her journey and future plans.
Hello Fatema! Can you tell us a bit about your background and what you are doing now?
鈥淚 completed my social work degree in January 2015. Today, I work as a social services officer in Trollh盲ttan. I have touched on various areas and know what I want to work with in the future, so I simply want to gain more knowledge.鈥
What are your plans and what are you passionate about?

鈥淢y dream is to work with issues related to children at an international level. I am passionate about children鈥檚 rights in social work.鈥
During her time in the master鈥檚 program, Fatema has developed her analytical skills, something she sees as an important ability in social work.
What skills have you developed during your master鈥檚 studies?
鈥淚n addition to knowledge, I have also developed an analytical ability that is always good when working with social work because it is context-dependent.鈥
What is it like to be a student at the advanced level?
鈥淪tudying at the master鈥檚 level is not just about studies. Of course, you get to meet many different people with different experiences and you make new contacts, which is also fun and can be needed.鈥
One of the opportunities that Fatema is looking forward to is studying abroad, something she believes will be useful when she works with international issues in the future.
What opportunities do you see with your master鈥檚 studies?
鈥淎n opportunity within the master鈥檚 program is to be able to study abroad. That鈥檚 something I鈥檓 going to do. It鈥檚 an opportunity for me, I think when I鈥檓 going to work with international issues in the future.鈥
Studying at advanced level is a way of taking your knowledge to the next level. Advanced skills can be attractive both for a future employer and for a possible career as a researcher.
