Hello Fatema! Can you tell us a bit about your background and what you are doing now?

“I completed my social work degree in January 2015. Today, I work as a social services officer in Trollhättan. I have touched on various areas and know what I want to work with in the future, so I simply want to gain more knowledge.”

What are your plans and what are you passionate about?

“My dream is to work with issues related to children at an international level. I am passionate about children’s rights in social work.”

During her time in the master’s program, Fatema has developed her analytical skills, something she sees as an important ability in social work.

What skills have you developed during your master’s studies?

“In addition to knowledge, I have also developed an analytical ability that is always good when working with social work because it is context-dependent.”

What is it like to be a student at the advanced level?

“Studying at the master’s level is not just about studies. Of course, you get to meet many different people with different experiences and you make new contacts, which is also fun and can be needed.”

One of the opportunities that Fatema is looking forward to is studying abroad, something she believes will be useful when she works with international issues in the future.

What opportunities do you see with your master’s studies?

“An opportunity within the master’s program is to be able to study abroad. That’s something I’m going to do. It’s an opportunity for me, I think when I’m going to work with international issues in the future.”
