Information about the construction work
On this page we share information from Akademiska Hus about the construction work in the near future.
Akademiska Hus has contracted Peab to carry out the construction work following the bankruptcy of the previous contractor.
Planned works during the period
The contractor will be demolishing the geo-construction (steel props spanning the excavation and the hammer beam to which the props are attached) and continuing with concrete casting.
Week 24 (9 – 13 June):
- Demolition of geostructure level 2 (disturbance level: low)
- Concrete works in deep excavations, vaults, and walls
(disturbance level: medium) - Scaffolding modifications (disturbance level: medium)
Week 25 (16 – 20 June):
- Demolition of geostructure level 2 (disturbance level: low)
- Concrete works in deep excavations, vaults, and walls
(disturbance level: medium) - Scaffolding modifications (disturbance level: medium)
Week 26 (23 – 27 June):
- Demolition of geostructure level 2 (disturbance level: low)
- Concrete works in deep excavations, vaults, and walls
(disturbance level: medium) - Scaffolding modifications (disturbance level: medium)
Planned Works: June – August 2025
- Concrete casting at ground level
- Backfilling between the sheet piling and the concrete structure
In recent years, the project has focused on the entrance from Haga Station, which is now nearly completed. This means that work is now progressing on the basement of the School of Business, Economics and Law’s new building, and façade work is scheduled to begin right after the summer. During the autumn, we will see the new building start to rise above ground.
Currens work
The contractor is currently casting the final sections of the station entrance and the basement of the new building. This mainly involves concrete work and the dismantling of the geotechnical structure (the struts – the round pipes that keep the sheet pile walls apart). Two-shift work will continue during parts of the summer.
Working Hours
Permitted working hours for the project are 06:00 – 23:00. It is important to note that work between 06:00 and 07:00 will only take place when necessary. The project aims to minimise disruptive noise and floodlighting during the early morning hours. Weekend work is also permitted when required.
Estimated degree of disturbance in different parts of the school.
Green = low
Yellow = medium
Red = high
