The conference on Quantum Geometry in Quantum Materials aims to explore the profound impact of quantum geometric properties, such as the quantum metric and geometric curvature (Berry curvature), on the physical properties of quantum materials. These properties, combined with non-trivial topology and many-body correlations, have become critical for understanding and predicting exotic electronic, optical, and transport phenomena in these systems. The conference will focus on the following topics:

  • Quantum Geometry and Electronics: Impact of Berry curvature and quantum metric on electronic behaviour.
  • Nonlinear Phenomena: Role of quantum geometry in nonlinear transport, optics, and anharmonicity.
  • Emergent Phases and Many-Body Effects: Influence on unconventional superconductivity, correlated flat bands, topological transitions, fractional quantum Hall states, spin-orbit coupling, and quasiparticle dynamics.
  • Hydrodynamic Regimes: Geometric underpinnings of quantum liquids and hydrodynamic behaviour. The materials of interest, though not limited to, include graphene, twisted bilayer systems, transition metal dichalcogenides, flat-band superconductors, magnetic topological insulators, and Weyl/Dirac semimetals.

The conference aims to provide a focused platform for collaboration among condensed matter physicists, both theoretical and experimental, at the forefront of the field. Our goals are to:

  • Identify future research directions in quantum materials development.
  • Catalyse collaborations to tackle key challenges.
  • Drive technological innovations in quantum-geometric materials.
