About Annie Guo

About Annie

Annie is a registered dietitian with a master's degree in clinical nutrition. She works as a Ph.D. Student in the Department of Pediatrics in Karl Mårilds research group Gastrointestinal Epidemiology and has an interdisciplinary research background in fields of oncology, odontology, dietetics, and public health. She has worked as a clinical dietitian at Karlskoga Hospital in Region Örebro.

PhD project

Annie's Ph.D. project investigates early-life environmental factors and the risk of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), including Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. Environmental factors include diet, hygiene factors as well as exposure to infections and antibiotics. Large-scale data from the Swedish ABIS and Norwegian MoBa cohorts are used and the project includes over 100,000 children followed from birth to later adolescence/early adulthood. Annie's doctoral project is part of an ongoing collaboration between the University AvÐÔ°®, the University of Linköping, and the University of Oslo.

Research

In 2023, Annie was a visiting researcher at the Norwegian Institute of Public Health for three months.

Since 2019, Annie is collaborating with professors Magnus Hakeberg and Ulla Wide where she analyzes data from the Diet and Oral Health Study.

Annie is taking part in projects investigating the association between diet and the development of psoriasis and celiac disease.
