About Airi Rovio-Johansson

Airi Rovio-Johansson is Professor in Educational AvĐÔ°®s at Gothenburg Research Institute (GRI), School of Business, Economics and Law at University AvĐÔ°®. Multidisciplinary phenomena and her interest in human behaviour, learning and action in different educational programmes, professions, and in different life-periods influenced her selection of education at the university. Her focus in research is on how and what students learn in higher education; how people make sense of communication, in talks and in meetings in professional public and private organizations. Her current research fields are organizing change processes; students’ sustainable learning processes in higher education; organizing of subject content in teaching and lecturers´ professional development in higher education; sustainable inter-generations and intercultural lifelong learning. In a number of years she acted as coordinator of institutional quality management projects at the European University Association (EUA), notably in developing a Quality Assurance System, “Institutional Evaluation Programme: Performance in Research, Performance in Teaching Quality, and Innovation”, for European and international Higher Education Institutions. Her publications include journal articles, books, book chapters and reports. She is a member of the Editorial board of Educational Research Review and Co-Editor of International Journal of Lesson and Learning Studies.
